I had this problem this week and it lasted for 3 days with no luck at rectifying the issue. As a last resort I put the phone in the refrigerator for 2 hours and the phone has been fine ever since.

my iphone 4 is overheating so much that i cant handle it even when its not being used!! it powers through a full battery in a manner of hours. any one know how to fix this or should i just take it to the store and yell???

Does anyones iphone’s battery brain fast as well? I changed my battery and restored it as a new phone but it still heats up fast and the battery drains within 4 hours on stand by. Any suggestions?

Yes! My iphone 4 has been overheating everytime i charge it and even without charging it! And im getting that temperarure warning icon frequently. Sometimes, i think its just going to blow up or something!

YES! My 3 burned my leg last night while I had the phone in my pocket. It gets so hot when I charge it that I cannot pick it up.

My phone was overheating even in cool areas. I was about to send in to apple but really didn’t want to because they either A) put a $700 dollar hold on your account until they receive your phone or you can send your phone in and be without a phone for 3 business days. (they mentioned taking it to an apple retailer but the apple tech wasn’t sure…hmmmm) Anyway, I believe if your phone has experienced hot temperatures in the sun, etc and it continues to get hot even in cool areas…..try letting it die or get less than 10% battery and charge it to 100%. You must keep it in a cool area though so that it will
Actually charge. Do this a few times. Apparently, it’s a way to revitalize the lithium ion battery. I did this and My phone is working perfectly fine now.

I left my iphone out in the sun, and i live in arizona. It wa my fault though and the metal around the phone was like boiling hot, almost killed it!

I had mine in my tankbag on my motorcycle,, in full blazing sun and noticed the music died. Had a look and saw the screen above,, yellow triangle and Temperature,,, put it inside the bag and an hour later all was working again. Not sure if any long term effects of course, just occurred a couple of hours ago.

Yes, it started a few weeks ago. as soon as I start to use mine it starts heating up and battery drains quickly but it’s got 21 days warranty left and Apple are sending a replacement! I had to reset to factory settings but that has not worked but Apple support have not quibbled about it at all.

I was driving my moped in spring time, phone was in my pocket definately not below -20 and not above 35 pulled over to make a call and this screen was up, phone was pretty normal temperature to the touch

my is doing the same thing if i get a text and dont check it it gets supppper hot by the button on the top corner of the phone the 1st time it happened i thought the flash had stayed on not sure what to do…

Hi it’s just happened to me today and just like you said I was in a cool air-conditioned room and I wasnt using my phone. But even stranger when I told my partner this had happened he replied that exactly the same thing has happened to him today too. I would love answers on this one!

When i’m using a car window mount kit with iPhone 4 and it’s hot and sunny out, the iPhone will overhear after continuous exposure to the sunlight and heat. The metal antenna around the iPhone 4 edges starts to get hot from the sun. It also doesn’t help that the iPhone is a black heat magnet. What happens: the brightness will start to dim, then afterwards it will shutdown. When you press the power button you get the “Termperature” at the lockscreen. But when I turn on the air-conditioning, and set the fan to blow on the windshield, the iPhone cools down, the Temperature at lockscreen disappears, and I am able to use the phone again. This can be a BIG problem, especially if you use your iPhone 4 daily as a GPS device and have it mounted on the windshield.

Just got my Iphone 4 yesterday. Was not using it, it was in my bag and was looking for keys when i noticed the phone was very very hot. There was a temp warning on it. Left it out to cool. Should I be concerned!!!!

When I may a long phone call it gets noticeably hot… One night while charging it, I answered a phone call, took it off charger and talked for about 10 min before the phone went dead.. No response to anything… Even when I put it back on charger.. After about 10 min it came back on

My iPhone 4 is about a month old and not in any case but when charging gets warm and every once in awhile functions freeze which require reboot. It’s no even three months old. I do enjoy the iPhone 4

Yeaa!!! Its really long back!! I saw that warning!! But i did a reset with the sleep button nd home together! The next day i had a complete restore of the cell!! Which fixed my temprature warning but!! Recetly i had updated to 4.3.2 iOs version! It works fine no teprature warning ever but my device is getting hot alwayz!! Even without use!! I keep my moblie down of my pillow after the use! But when i come back after an hour or something! I find it hot!! To touch the back side!! Nd more mover the steel sides too!! Yy is this happenning wid me! But their is not even any aplication runing background! No BT on!! Nd all the mail nd normal phone PUSH NOTIFICATIONS are OFF!! I had tried my best to fix this!! I restored many many times even BY SETING IT AS A NEW IPHONE!! but still its makeing me hyper!! Guyes plzz help me!! Wat shuld i do???

I had a warning from the phone days after I got it even though it was cool to the touch. Now 5 months on my phone heated up so much it was uncomfortable to hold. even after turning it off it stayed hot. When trying to use it again the battery has completely drained and it will not charge and will not work even after a hard reset. It just says immei unknown and another unknown message and needs to connect to itunes but it cannot draw enough power from the laptop and turns itself off after 15 seconds. Returning to an Apple store!!
