New Samsung phone is $200, new iPhone is $200. New galaxy tab $500 new iPad $500. How is that overpaying? And I wasn’t saying apple will never be topped, just that their profits will not be matched anytime soon. Which, as we know, is all companies truly care about in the end, not marketshare or units sold or anything else.

You are ignorant thinking the iFranchise can never be topped. Samsung sold more phones in 2011 than Apple. I’ve known plenty. Most don’t like Apple’s lock down of their devices, their file systems, their proprietary connectors, their inability to be “tinkered” with (even if you Jailbreak, Apple will come around and screw you somehow with an update just for the Jailbreak), the inability and refusal of Apple to support certain popular industry standards, the fact you can get 2x of something else for the price of one Apple product (smarter consumer) or the fact you have to use iTunes which is quite possibly the worst software on the planet. And these are grown ups in the tech business, not some snot nosed kid who got an iPad from mom and dad and calls everyone else poor if they don’t own one.

People like you said the same thing when Android phones came out. Now more people buy Android smart phones than iOS and Android has almost *double* the market share. It took time but it happened. Ever notice how the market share of iPads is slowly eroding? See a pattern anywhere genius?

Who wants an SD card reader *externally*? Once again, Apple has to remain on the lock down and not provide removable SD cards that you can actually use to store stuff on your iPad. Hell Apple doesn’t even allow you to browse the files on their devices much less allow you to detach them through something like an SD card. You want more onboard storage, pay more money to APPLE rather than just buying a bigger SD card which is cheaper and industry standard. How the heck else do people think Apple has become one of the largest companies cash-wise off of selling *phones*?

I’m with you Texas. After owning 4 iDevices and the having to deal with the worst software in the world (aka iTunes), I will never own another one again. Apple and their “screw you if you don’t like it policies” and their obsession to litigate the competition into forfeiture turns my stomach thinking that I ever supported them in the first place. Not another dime out of me. Not even if they successfully litigate the competition into oblivion.

I think he’s talking about whether a price drop will allow them to crush the nascent Android tablet market.

Personally, I don’t think it serves *any* consumer if they successfully crushed the other tablet manufacturers. Last I checked, monopolies never help consumers. And, given all the stories about iPad sales detracting from real computer sales, that’s exactly where we could end up a few years down the road.

Apple would push for a level of monopoly that Microsoft *never* had.

I’ve used an iPhone 4 for a year and a half, and can say I don’t like it. Good enough? It was the iPhone 4 which made me decide to try an Android tablet instead of an iPad…..and the Android tablet (Transformer) has convinced me to ditch my iPhone later this year, and move to an Android phone. So, tried it, didn’t like it.

This is a good example of Apple marketing gone wrong. The s in 4s still stands for speed. As the 4s has a seven times faster processor and is 3 times faster graphics wise then the 4. However, Apple for some reason loves to push Siri in it’s ads. I have a 4s and don’t really use Siri at all and to be honest, anyone who brought a 4s just for Siri is a fool.
