what i see happening is this:

one dock next to the media center, using the ipad as a player of all things media (the vga connector should handle 750p video).

keyboard dock, vga adapter and maybe sd/usb adapters (i do wonder if it will be possible to use multiples of them at once) on the desk in the office or kids room.

case and maybe a bluetooth keyboard in the meeting room, study hall, library, or as a media stand wherever friends gather.

basically, while i dont like apples policies around the app store and similar, i can actually see this act as a acceptable solution for many uses.
