Why can’t they just come out with a 7-inch iPad already? – Obviously, millions of people don’t want the large bulky full-sized version, but one at 7-inches that just makes it into your jacket pocket, while also being perfectly comfortable to use.
I love the iPad, but it’s a no-go till they shrink it!

Is diabolical Tim Cook planning to snuff out Kindle Fire under an avalanche of returns by timing their
maxi-Pod/Mini-Pad announcement to deliver a coups de grâce to the Apple wanna-be fantasies of Amazon?

With the extended holiday returns up until 31-January that Amazon is offering, if Apple were to announce a maxi-Pod/mini-Pad in the mid-to-hi $200’s anytime next month, I betcha there would be a whole lot of Kindle Fire owners lined up at UPS suffering from buyer’s remorse.

Note so self: Buy UPS shares.

What analysts are doing is laying the publicity groundwork for Apple, willingly or not, and Apple would be a party to any information speculation/leaks, to prepare the market without expending their own resources.

It isn’t that they don’t have to, rather it is because of market segmentation and cash flow, among other things. Addressing a market segment that Apple hasn’t sold to or even marketed to in the past. Kindle has changed Apple’s future target market(s), at least for now. Additional cash flow from a lower price point will also help with future product development while “helping” keep competitors at bay.

you tech writers just can’t help yourselves. . . it’s like you all have to write an apple rumor a day to keep the doctor away. it’s now to the point where it’s just flat out obnoxious and sickening. let apple announce their stuff when they are ready–your rumors don’t help anything. . . except clog the web with junk. . . and make me want to block your site.

I doubt it will be called an ipad, it will be a ipod touch 7″. After all to use a 7″ ipad will require you filling your fingers down :)
