What fragmentation?? iOS 5 is available for old devices like iphone 4 and iphone 3gs too… I don’t see the fragmentation you are talking about… Siri came out with 4s, but is available for older i-devices like 4 and 3gs… Oh.. wait…

Kinda like how the new iOS made “4g” available for iPhone 4s on at&t – (fake label not available for older models like iphone 4)…

Shoot – this is just proving your point…

Let’s try a different approach – waving hands like Jedi and saying – “there is NO fragmentation on i-devices.” <– WHAT? if the iPhone 4s can claim 4g capability, I can claim to be a Jedi! :)

I honestly believe this technology will eventually come to devices but its not quite there yet. I’d say by the fifth iteration of the iPad Apple will have some type of feedback so that sandpaper “feels” gritty and so on and so forth.

As expected, it didn’t happen. Another incremental improvement… yawn. So, does this mean it doesn’t “pry open” your wallet?

And where are the complaints about “fragmentation” on the i-device side because of features like the higher res display?

Guess it depends on how it works. I’m not an Apple fan…..but if it can replicate the “feel” of keys etc. it could conceivably make the keyboard (among other things) much more accurate.

Guess we’ll know in a few more hours.

That would depends on how precise the technology is. It is a far cry between “feel like sand ” and for a blind user to actually make out the character dots. My guess is the technology is not there yet.

This could be more of a motion-based (like wiping) resistance experience.

Haptic technology is a game-changer. The possibilities are virtually endless and the boon to the visually impaired is incomparable. Suddenly they are downloading and reading books on the bus like anyone else.
