Thats what people like you said during 2009-early 2010 when Android smartphones were still in their infancy. Now they dominate the smartphone market and the iPhone is mediocre. Android tablets, at this moment are still in their infancy as well although they take great leaps (quad core, 1080p display, etc). Lets see you write the same comment again in a year or two ;)

I think there are only 2 non-novelty uses for this technology: 1. Making a virtual keyboard feel more like a physical keyboard (cueing your fingertips to align with the keys so you can type normally) – a significant advancement 2. Porn – a significant advancement for some.

Could be interesting……but if it’s overhyped like Siri, I’m not sure it’ll make that much *real* difference. They’ll sell a tonne of the devices, with or without this tech.

Not too concerned……still no expandable memory, still terrible Bluetooth file transfer capabilities, still an old and inefficient UI, still very little in the way of connectivity *if you don’t commit entirely to the Apple ecosystem*.

Apple’s a great choice, but not the only choice.

This could be really cool. But if this tactile tech is included in the new iPad, along with the retina display and whatever other improvements they’ve made, I shudder to think what the new price tag is going to look like.

There are more than 15 tablet makers in Cupertino. So many computer companies in fact, that it has been named by many as the ‘capital of the Silicon Valley’. Apple itself is based in Cupertino; so what is Apple trying to say? Less secrecy please, Apple.

Rivals? What rivals? There are android tablets, but even all of them collectively aren’t in any way a rival to the iPad. Doesn’t mean eventually the market won’t change and they’ll actually be considered competition — but as of now, referring the them as rivals couldn’t be further from reality ;-)
