Some publications said the iPad 3 could come for price as the iPad 2.

Never ever. The cost of the high resolution screen is simply too high.

My take is that we will see an iPad 2S that completely replaces the iPad 2.

And, maybe we will see an iPad 3. Which will be more expensive than the iPad 2S.

It’s the consumer’s choice. You get what you pay for.

I personally would like to see an MBA with that new high res display – if any.

Yeah I agree with spacem00se the price probably will go up not not a ton. The LTE modem will make it more pricey. I don’t think apple becaue of their brand will come down to PC tablet prices. Apple is in their own playing field. And because they pay their owrks at FoxConn more now prices won’t dip too low.

Just adding a 3G modem to the iPad bumped the cost 100$. Even if you remove 2G and add the LTE modem, still going to bump the costs. For the WiFi version (which is what most people buy), probably no change at all. Its a shame Apple refuses to any of their devices sport a MicroSDHC slot.
