Well, if it was a Japanese inspiration, it would not have been from a "soapy tub." You lather and rinse outside the tub. Soaking in the tub is for relaxing, which is why the Japanese keep water in the tub for a long time (hence the need for covers) and thus the need for covers.

It will work really well for some people. It is for people wanting everything to stay thin and light.

EG My ipad 1 with leather case is 2.2lbs and about 20mm thick compared to 1.5lbs/13.4mm and that is a slim case. This will ensure the ipad 2 stays thin and light whilst offering some screen protection.

For me however I need more angle choice and something more stable for when I'm using it on a non-flat surface. If you don't want the cover those "hinges" on the ipad itself will be annoying and detract from the look. I think I'll stick to my ipad1 for now and wait out the ipad 3.... an ipad1 has at least another year left in it.

Rotation is the same for most cases as they are usually landscape only ... you can't have it both ways. If just holding it in portrait the cover will just fold behind I presume.

LMAO!

That's great. . . once again Apple's innovation caught red handed. That cover is one of the stupidest ideas I've seen in a long time. What are you going to do do with it when rotating the device? It's just going to be in the way.
