I haven’t been fooled by there marketing. But the facts are clear Apple aggressively target’s the not initiated to technology (they market to dumb dumb’s) To many times Gramma has spent too much to send her email’s.

Amazing marketing, that’s all I can think.

Apple is absolutely brilliant at putting out a luxury item at “just high enough” prices that it causes people to justify their purchase, rather than complain about what it doesn’t have or doesn’t do (or vote with your wallets by demanding more and not purchasing) – even repeating what the corporate figurehead tells them the justification should be.

You see it all day long on these forums…

And look – it’s brilliant marketing, it pays off:

2.5M – 3M units monthly. On
the least innovative iteration yet.

Apple is notorious for spending lot’s of money on creative marketing. (they hype this crap up like nobody’s business) And here on Slashgear I constantly read garbage Apple hype. I understand why people hate on apple’s over bearing marketing, It’s very transparent now. I have never seen a company make so many public statement about arbitrary sales figures. I’m tired of Apple!
