while i think its possible that the iphone 4 has sold more than any other phone, i know for a fact that it isnt at 20%. maybe counting all iphones and all ipod touches it is. but the iphone 4 is not at 20%, which is why the result says ”apple iphone” rather than throwing in the “4″. and the app revenue numbers are worthless.

So… Where is Samsung Galaxy S on the list? Did EVO sell more than 9million units? Because SGS sold 9million, yet it’s not on the chart.

Apple sitting on a lead here. We’re still only 19 months in, on the iOS vs Android race. Why 19 months? That’s how long its been since the original Droid was released featuring Android 2.0. And that’s where the race really began. Further, its only been in the last 6 months, that big name mobile app players have started releasing Android apps. And releasing new apps at about the same time as iOS. The dollars and cents effect of that has another 6 to 9 months to show up in these numbers. But they will show up.

This study is actually showing that 1 iOS user is as valuable as 2.4 android users when it comes down to monetisation. Android has momentum, but is not quite there yet. Mobile is not just a reach game, it’s equally and often more important with engaged users.
