you can keep the iphone. Yeah, android is buggy and tends to lag, but I keep my phone clean and I never worry about my phone running slow. The ability to manage files, especially media on the phone the same way as a computer is important to me. I can do more with file management and video playback right out of the box than Jobs could ever shake a stick at.

yeah, to each their own. I prefer more control over my device, and I don’t like having to rely on itunes to manage media and files. A little lag and an inherent instability is a small price I’m more than willing to pay.

Noo and I have the samsung momeent, it comes with button on the side that activates it. I always accidently push it and it takes about 30 seconds to get back to what I was doing. Very annoying. That is why I am switching to an iPhone 4S because they are an older system so theyve had time to fix some stuff versus the android system which has been a constant pain in the ass to myself and friends. It isn’t worth all the frustration. I strongly advise against getting and android, they will just go downhill from the beginning.

Why didn’t they release a video to the public? lol is it because they want us to use GOOGLE to find out about what happened there!? hmmmm…. LOL kidding. This is quite the ball breaker for the people who are obsessed about the iphone 5 coming out …. too bad, oh well they should have known if they actually follow apple….. 2g, 3g , 3gs , 4g then 4gs!

I wonder how useful the voice assist feature is. I’m sure it works fine, but I wonder how often I’d use it.

Take one of they’re vaunted examples “text Susan Smith and that I will be late for dinner.” I Don’t really want to say that walking down the street in public, or when I’m in the office (we have open cubes), or on the train, etc. Perhaps I’m being self-conscious about giving phone commands where I don’t need to be, but my guess is that I don’t think I’ll use that feature as much as they promote.

Android users, do you use voice commands fairly often?

I think that they should stop fannying about with up-market, high end phones, and create a whole other device for users with a small budget.

The iPhone Nano, if you like.

this is the biggest leap for apple, as no ‘budget’ handsets have been released from the technololgy super giant.

Here is what to expect……

Upgraded iPhone with faster processor, lots more RAM, more storage, better
camera with backlit sensor (for low light). The new assistant stuff along with
voice input will be bad ass. I think it will still look similar to the iPhone 4
and will offer CDMA and GSM in the same device.

As to the rumor of a new cheap iPhone. My own theory is that they will make
the iPhone 4 cheaper by combining GSM and CDMA into a single device (iphone4) vs
having sperarate ATT and Verizon versions. They have the dual mode chip in the
current Verizon model so they should be able to make that work after working out
the bugs in the new phone (4S). Also by offering a smaller storage option, (8GB)
it should make it cheaper.

Of course the iCloud stuff and all is cool too. The assistant feature will
likely be the star of the show.

Don’t you want the best bang for your hard earn money? There is also longevity, even if iOS 5 works for your iphone now, you have no way of knowing if iOS 6 would would do the same. Plus, if this iphone does indeed have a dual core processor, the difference would be huge.
I bet when iOS 6 comes out, you iphone 4 will go the way of the iphone 3g which I owned. When iOS 4 came out, it made my iphone 3G a piece of $hit.
What you did sounds like a compulsory buy. Every time I buy something out of compulsion, I regret it.

iOS already had it’s debut, why would they do another one? You are definitely lost. Apple is releasing a new phone. They wouldn’t drag out all the press for a 2nd round of the iOS 5

What’s the point of waiting for a phone that may or may not come out. I dropped $200 on the iPhone 4 in August. Why ? Aside from being impatient , iOS 5 (and future any iOS) guarantees my phone to be running the same software as any new iPhone that will come out in the next few years. Only an idiot would waste their hard earned money on a phone every year that does the exact same things as their old phone does.

I really think it doesn’t matter to majority of iphone buyers. People were still buying the iphone 4 in September even though they knew the 5 was just a month away. I knew someone who brought the iphone 4 on a 2 year contract for $200 a couple of weeks ago. Majority of iphone buyers don’t care for specs, they just want to be part of the “trendy” crowd. Its sad, but that’s most consumer just buy things to be accepted or be part of something like typical high school students where as tech conscious people wants something to tinker with. Apple could release iphone 4 with cheaper parts and it will still sell well but not among the tech community which is only a minority in the general population.
