Interesting gadget. Yes, there are some books I'd like scanned but I'm still a book fan. I recently bought 50lbs of books on graphic design and printing but was 1400 miles from home. I had to ship them back. I like the ease of use of a book, the physicality of it and how the content is revealed and of course, no batteries. Information quickly changes, knowledge evolves.

But how big of book can you scan? Is the size of the frame adjustable? and b/c each book has different thickness, does the fixed angle of the frame always fit to the book once it lies open?

I did miss it! My mistake!

This does look interesting to me. I don't like the idea of buying DRM'd books that I can't pass on to my friends. It's one of the things stopping me from picking up a kindle/nook/ipad for my reader. (I do like the feel of paper too, they aren't going to overcome that). But it always bothered me that the right of resale on the books is pretty much eliminated with the new digital distribution methods. At least this way, I can spend the extra 15 minutes to digitize my book, move the copy to whatever the latest greatest e-reader turns out to be, and when I want to pass it on/sell it, I can delete the file and pass the hard copy on (maybe with the digital version included).
