IntoDream DIY handheld SEGA DreamCast [Video]

It seems we'll never tire of seeing full-sized consoles refettled into handheld casings, and that's handy since gamers don't seem to tire of attempting such miniturization.  Today's – the handiwork of Bacteria – is the IntoDream, and it takes the venerable SEGA DreamCast and packs it into a handheld with a 5-inch PSone LCD, official PAL DreamCast hardware and joystick from the Nintendo N64.Video demos after the cut

The grey window in the top right hand corner is where the DreamCast's VMU sits, the combo memory cartridge and display/portable mini game unit – and the whole thing is powered by a 6 amp battery.  That's good enough for up to 2 hours 15 minutes of solid gaming, which pales somewhat compared to a DSi or PSP but then again they're not using mainstream gaming hardware.

It's all good enough to run Quake 3 and Unreal Tournament with no problems, and was the handiwork of four months effort.  No plans to sell it, however, though there's the possibility of a few basic commissions being taken for less complex consoles than the DreamCast.
