I have Windows PC's, MAC PC's - personal computer (PC) does not define Windows or MAC in my world. Also have owned Windows Mobile, and currently have an iPhone. Waiting for the new Windows Nokia's to hit in 2012

I actually liked my iPhone and MacBook Pro until I realized how many iLemmings follow Apple right off a cliff. Personally, I think Apple ripped the consumers whenever the iPhone glass broke. I got mine fixed for free, but many paid $199 for repairs (actual cost of device). You paid much more then $199, but they kept your old phone, and resold the damn thing.... Wake up, break a phone and they profit twice... WHAT A SCAM...

Apple does have a good business model for making profits and sucking people dry, but it will backfire soon. Too much competition for them to keep up the roll of success, which is a good thing for all in the end.

Love em or hate em, its all good in the end for everyone. Competition is always beneficial.

I think you are trying to make up your own definition for what a smartphone is. Look it up, its called google and wikipedia and stop blah blah blahing with no clue of what you are talking about. Flash is a plugin not part of the web standards so iPhone didnt need to support a specific plugin to be a fully capable web browser. Oh well, my job here is done, I educated a kid today. You can send me a text thanking me for the lesson to the last two digits of my phone number: 12

How did offer the first fully capable web browser if it didn't have flash support lol. My 8 year old windows phone had the first capable web browser. Stop trying to be an idiot unless your actually are one. IPhone called themselves a smartphone but weren't one until iPhone 4 they can now close a native application after you close it. Android could always do that and wtf third party applications too. IPhone stole that from android. IPhone better not have a 720p screen either because they will steal that from android too.

Even if riteshk is an android fanboy he's right about nearly everything he is saying. He may be getting pissed off and letting his anger go but I also can understand why. There's a lot of close minded assholes on here lol. Just saying. It sorta look like the iPhone but in the same sense it doesn't. But charlitos is just an idiot. He's talking about buttons looking the same and the headphone jack being on top I mean how ridiculously stupid do you have to sound before people start getting angry. This kid is so stupid volume buttons and head phones jacks have looked the same and been in same places on phones before iPhone even came out. I had an iPhone and liked it bit when android came out after year I bought android and never looked back. And when I had an iPhone I hated talking about anything to do with my iPhone to other people wtf iPhones because most of them were such idiots and they acted like iPhone was the only phone out there and acted like iPhone invented phones basically. Very snobby people now I know all iPhone users don't follow this but most do. And most are stupid when it comes to common sense and tech. IPhone tried calling themselves a smart phone but it wasn't. A smartphone is defined as multi task. You could never do that until iPhone 4 I think right guys where you could close a native app and it would keep running. IPhone basically an old windows phone and dumped it down for common users. Also tweaked the phone and made their own os for it. The true visionary of a smart phone was Microsoft. IPhone was the first smartphone even though it wasn't a smart phone that was quick and good and everyone could use.

in reply to ur post on a thread down bellow :

"Lol my windows phone that came out before iPhone ever was out had the volume button that's on the iPhone. The iPhone copied that. You know what else. IPhone copied the idea of a smart phone too. Windows phones were the first true smart phone. You know what else windows copied. A smart phone technically is a phone that multitasks. IPhone actually never did that until android came out. I think it want until the iPhone 4 where people could actually close a native application and it would keep running in the back ground. Never could do that before. Also the iPhone screen is very similar the the same lcd screen touch screen on my old windows phone I had 8 years ago. Also I phone copied the idea when you turn your phone side ways the image flips. Tests how my old windows phone was 8 years ago. I can just keep on going too dude so you need to stop acting like a three year old. If your not young then your just a big fing dumb shit"

First of all the iPhone was the first mobile phone to ever use a multitouch interface. It also offered the first fully capable web browser in a phone(of course no flash support). iPhones didnt copy the "idea" of a smartphone, the first iPhone wasnt even considered a smartphone because you had no options to install third party software which only became possible with the release of the iPhone 3G in 2008 and the introduction of the "App Store". Before the iPhone not a single multitouch interface smartphone existed in the market, after the iPhone every single smartphone magically supports multitouch interfaces. iPhones didnt steal a single thing from Android, Google has basically no UI related patents, every single feature you see today on Android has already been done in Windows, OSX or Linux. Android simply borrows from already stablished platforms, including widgets that were first invented by Apple in the late 70s. Notifications, widgets, copy paste, folder systems, multitasking, all of these things were already part of Mac OS before Google even existed. As you know iOS is a slimmed down version of OSX. The reason why Apple takes their time to allow certain features is because they dont want to have an exact copy of a desktop OS running on a multitouch hassle free UI as that of the iPhone. It simply doesnt work, it ads complexity and in most cases its unnecessary complexity. Google throws anything they can find inside the Android box just so they can claim their OS does more "stuff", it is a mess, it is poorly designed, it is laggy, it is fragmented and this is exactly what Apple and Microsoft are trying to avoid with iOS and WP respectively. Dont ever say again that Apple borrows basic UI functions from Android, that is not true, Android pays Microsoft about 1 billion a year on licensing fees, that can give you an idea of who is the real big borrower here.

Finally, I didnt say phones cannot have volume buttons designed like that of the iPhone's, I said once you copy way too many obvious design decisions(in this case over 8) from a single product you end up with something that looks like that product. For instance lets say I have a friend(Kyle) who designs a table that is square, mostly glass with aluminum cylindrical legs, with an aluminum band around the egde, with 4 holes on the glass in a way that the legs screw through it, and it also has a white frosted finish. Then other guy(Robert) comes and makes the exact same table but he moves the legs a little and he puts two aluminum bands instead of one. Everyone who sees these tables will say that Robert's table is a copy of Kyle's table. I dont think its logical for someone to say BUT HEY! KYLE DIDNT INVENT FROSTED FINISHES.

Everyone who sees these tables will say that Robert’s table is a copy of Kyle’s table. I dont think its logical for someone to say BUT HEY! KYLE DIDNT INVENT FROSTED FINISHES.

I'm with you, I'm very eager to see what the battery life is like. Knowing Intel I have high expectations something tells me its going to be better than arm. But at the same time something tells me ....x86 architecture just doesn't have what it takes to get 1-5 watts TDP like arm. AMD brazos only uses 9-18 watts though depending on the model of the chip and they aren't intended for phones as you know. I think Intel will be able to get the power envelope at least to arms if not lower. I hope so.

@ charlitos Lol my windows phone that came out before iPhone ever was out had the volume button that's on the iPhone. Also my 8 year old windows phone had headphone jack on top so iPhone copied that. Also my 8 year old windows phone had round corners so iPhone copied that too. The iPhone copied that. You know what else. IPhone copied the idea of a smart phone too. My 8 year old windows phone had a front flat surface and also a back flat surface so Iphone copied that too. Windows phones were the first true smart phone. You know what else iPhone copied. A smart phone technically is a phone that multitasks. IPhone actually never did that until android came out. IPhone marketed it as a smart phone which actually was not true information. I think it want until the iPhone 4 where people could actually close a native application and it would keep running in the back ground. Never could do that before and copied that from android. Also the iPhone screen is very similar the the same lcd touch screen on my old windows phone I had 8 years ago. Also I phone copied the idea when you turn your phone side ways the image flips because my old 8 year old windows phone flipped image when held side ways. I can just keep on going too dude so you need to stop acting like a three year old. If your not young then your just a big fing dumb shit

Oh god, you are definitely having a bad morning/afternoon. I didnt say phones were not allowed to have flat surfaces or round edges or top headphone jack, I said and listen carefully: if on top of that you also copy a bunch of other design elements into the same product you will end up with a clone. That phone looks like the took an iPhone they moved the buttons around and sliced it in the middle. Stop yelling at me, the world thinks this looks like an iPhone it has very little to do with me.

OMG! There's just no point in talking to Apple fruitheads about anything at all. You sound just like those ridiculous lawyers who presented that set of suggestions for everyone else to make tablets. Flat front, rounded edges.. really???? You saw all the buttons were a knock off from the iPhone, but you went blind exactly when your eyes got to the camera shutter button! Good God! Also, headphone jack on the top? Just listen to yourself..

Also, anyone on the planet who's ever come across a computer knows what Intel is. That's just embarrassingly stupid!

uh? When did I imply this was a real product? Also why are u mad?

I just gave a simple example of how why I think you were wrong. My friend who knows very little about technology(like most people on planet earth) thought this was an iPhone. It all comes down to how many design elements you copy from another product.

1- Round corners
2 - Top power button with shape identical to the iPhone 4
3 - Top headphone jack
4 - Something that looks like an aluminum band around the phone
5 - Volume bar shaped like that of the 3GS
6 - Flat front surface and what it looks like a flat back surface
7 - Another random button on the button that looks exactly in shape and size as the mute button on the 4.
8 - The aluminum band leaves space on the top and the bottom that show the edges of the casing.

This phone might not be identical to an iPhone but it copies 8 and probably more visual elements that are obvious on a iPhone and once you put them together it looks like an iPhone. You can tell yourself all day "NO THATS NOT TRUE" but my point remains, not everyone is a fanboy like you. Regular people will easily confuse this phone with an iPhone. Thats all, nothing to be mad about, just a mere fact.

That's not even a real phone you moron! Its just a render.. Intel DO NOT make phones. they make silicon. FYI.

So anything that's a block rectangle, no matter grey or black, plastic or metal, big or small, with a chrome band on the face or not, with four Android buttons on the face, is just a iPhone knock-off. Right?
When you *left your iPad on the coffee table* (very relevant to the point in discussion) with this article opened, did she really ask "What's Intel?" Sorry, but was she from a forest or living under a rock for the last 20 years or just as Apple blind as you? Hell, even Apple uses Intel CPUs! Anything that's not Apple - what's that? I'm sure she'd also ask what's Android or what's Google or, even, what's Windows or who's Bill Gates perhaps?

Talk about "severely blind" indeed!

Guys chill out. Riteshk, is defenitely an android fanboy. However this rendering does closely resemble the iPhone. I'm not a fanboy, I just know what it looks like because I own one. And only reason I care is because I really like android and if this device is produced exactly the way it's rendered in that picture, you can bet Apple will sue them. The overall shape and especially from the top to the middle very closely look like an iPhone.

Its sad how fanboys ignore the actual content of the article and what its for, for how a render looks (vaguely) like a darn iPhone.. What's with this rampant ignorance?

Apple fanboys - get the eff over your iPhone design and how everyone else has been ripping it off! Its a rectangle and phones looked similar before the damn iPhone existed. Stop fooling yourself and annoying everybody else!

Someone said its on a par with the iPhone - how dare they? It performs better than the iPhone - you copying bastards, its just a copy of the iPhone, you know, Apple invented the processor and it "makes" the best processor, everyone else is just copying Apple's design. Basically, everything we know is a copy of something Apple. From the microwave oven to the fridge to the car to the lawn-mower, everyone copied Apple. Right? Stop this fucked up nonsense already. I just lose my nerves sometimes at the ignorant bunch of douchebags who're like a cancer to the tech world.

The article is about the Intel Medfield processors, not about the damn fruitphone! Jeeeeez!

Wow angry fanboy lol. Personally I think I phone is shit and I prefer android but that's just my own opinion and many others think the opposite so I understand, just preference. Now that's out of the way the picture of the phone in this article as said in the article is just a render. Also said in the article it is a reference design .... What does all this mean. That's not what the phone is going to look like Haha. And just for completeness sake if that picture is exactly what the phone looks like what's it to you. Even if the phone was identical to the iPhone in looks what is it to you. The only reason you would get upset over that is because your jealous. Who cares stop acting like a kid.

There's so many lcd tvs that look the same, monitors that look the same, even phones out now that look the same, houses that look the same, laptops that look the same, cars that look the same, people that look the same, etc... Most but not all of iPhone users get jealous or upset over nothing all the time. You know who you are :)
