N8 is a brilliant phone, doesnt suprise me that it is doing well. Yes the camera is definately a major selling point because it is the best in the industry, but the call quality is awesome to, battery life is ok (mine lasts 4 days or so under light mostly phone use. Tethering (which is something you are not allowed to do on most other phones). Does drain the battery quite fast, but if you have a computer anyway, you might as well have the phone plugged in and charging. Symbian is great, truely. Very rarely buggy and most bugs are introduced in 3rd party software. It is complicated though, it is not for namby pamby’s, but considering it has been the worlds most popular phone operating system for the past handful of years I would guess alot of people in the world are pretty used to it, and it has an awesome graphics processor.

That is what I understood as well, I didn’t say the sales of the N8 were bad. This sentence is where I said the same basic thing you just said:

The Finnish research firm says that it has been forced to reconsider calling the N8 a failure.

Hey editors, i think you make a mistake on this one.
I don’t know how you guys made this mistake, but if i were to speculate, you guys use Google translate or something and dint read the article properly.

I quote from the google translated article:

“N8 flops” pull back our words.
“We have earlier comments in late summer have complained N8: a possible flop for fear of the phone the same fate as the Nokia N900 to. But we had to change our view.”

to me, it seems the article is impressed by what the N8 has managed to achieve.
