Imagining a Marc Newson iWatch

Earlier today, it was revealed that none other than industrial designer Marc Newson was added to Apple design head Jony Ive's design team. The most under-wraps design project at Apple today is the iWatch – the most secretive project that we're pretty sure will come to fruition, that is to say. So what would a Marc Newson iWatch look like?

Thanks to a helpful tip from Daring Fireball, we're getting a look at Marc Newson's portfolio. And what's that?

Could it be a section devoted specifically to timepieces? And could it be that Marc Newson's watches are all extremely beautiful? So beautiful, we must expect that Apple's iWatch game will be at least as powerful.

With warriors out there today like the Motorola Moto 360, the Samsung Gear S, and LG G Watch R, there's a lot of room for improvement. In the industrial design department anyway – at least as far as aesthetic beauty goes.

Devour this Marc Newson collection, and imagine what Apple could do with such a set of unique pieces of hardware.

While you take a glance, think about the simplicity, think about the applicability to our smart device world. That's a world that that already includes watches and smartphones. Think about what Apple would do to mix it all up.

Apple certainly wouldn't create a clock that'd sit on your shelf, would they? Wouldn't that be madness? Stick around our Apple hub for more information – especially on the 9th, the big day when Apple reveals the whole shebang!
