I have to admit that when it comes to form factors for mobile phones the one I dislike the most tends to be the clamshell or flip phone. They look like devices we used back in the 90′s to me and I just don’t like them for the most part. A new flip phone has turned up from a company called iida dubbed the X-Ray.

The phone gets the name X-Ray from the design that has a red opaque shell that you can see through to highlight the cool hardware on the inside. The phone has a 7 x 102 dot external display for time and caller id information. Inside the phone is a larger LCD with graphics for phone menus and software.

The phone is offered in red, black, and blue colors. I like the red one the best. The phone measures 49 x 110 x 15.7mm and weighs 123g. The continuous call time is 210 minutes and the standby time is 270 hours. The device has an 8MP camera with built-in flash and autofocus among other features and it can record movies. A microSD card slot serves for most storage needs. Pricing and availability are unknown.
