I’m sorry for you pain, but you can’t sell me…all of those superlatives are simpy YOUR opinion, other than HWA. I find the Windows Mobile O/S to be the ugliest in the “entire smartphone industry,” sorry…but it is America and we are BOTH entitled to our opinions. Glad you enjoy your phone.

That is correct for the Bionic…it only HIDES the bloatware, it does not disable or delete it.

This article isn’t entirely correct, Ice Cream Sandwich DISABLES apps(so it doesnt use system ressources in the background) and does not only hide them. As far as I can tell the Motorola Phones don’t disable the apps but merely hide them in the launcher.

You can hide them by creating a new group, cll it Bloat if you like, and putting all of the apps in there you want to hide. Then put all of the apps you want to see in another group, and have ONLY that group show when you click the App button.

What he said. Bionic’s Apps > Push-and-hold menu, on pre-installed “bloatware,” gives users only two options: 1) Add to home, and 2) Add to group.

Yeah, true, but there is other uses for hiding apps, like you have a app that you didn’t want nobody knows (Fake a Call for example, since if someone knows you have this app it completely lost its sense).

i think its disappointing that people actually think being able to hide unwanted apps is a feature.
we shouldn’t need to hide unwanted apps, we should be able to uninstall them.
android comes with far to much pre-loaded software, of course most of it is the manufacturer and carriers fault.
people shouldn’t need to root their phone to get rid of bloatware.
