Back then, the government did NOT have to put restrictions on the use of the horse to get people to switch to gasoline-powered cars.  Instead, gasoline-powered cars got good enough that many folks naturally made the switch from horse buggies to gasoline cars.

If electric cars won&#039;t be accepted unless you hobble gasoline-powered cars with artificial government restrictions, then that says that there&#039;s something wrong with electric cars.

And there is.  Those of us who rent apartments or own apartment-style condominimums without garages have no way to recharge electric cars.   Advocates of electric cars seem to have totally ignored that huge part of the American population that parks their cars overnight in the street or in parking lots.
