The Humanscale Switch Mouse is definitely an ergonomic option for those seeking a computer mouse that does not exacerbate problems like carpel tunnel syndrome. However, this mouse’s features do not stop at ergonomics.
In fact, it is called the Switch, because it can be used by both left and right handed individuals, making it an ambidextrous device. The ergonomic component rests in the adjustable nature of the mouse. It has a palm rest that can be adjusted for your comfort.
This is definitely a step in the right direction. With the computer mouse contributing largely to the development of carpel tunnel syndrome, it is important there are options out there to provide relief. Besides, just because you’re left-handed doesn’t mean you should be left out of having ample mouse options.

Finally! I’m the only leftie in our office and we all use various terminals; no-one considers it a problem. I’ve got used to a right-handed mouse, but do find i get sore points. This looks like it just might be a good solution in the office and at home for me.

Razer, which makes highly-accurate mice mostly aimed at gamers, has been making ambidexterous mice for quite a while. In fact, their first mouse, the Boomslang was made in 1997 or so and was the same way.

I actually have this mouse and I love it. Aside from being great for both me and my left handed wife, the tilting bottom of the mouse puts my hand in a much more comfortable position. I can already feel the difference in my wrist.
FYI, I got mine from MCergo.com, and if you click their request a best price button they will email you a coupon for $10 off.
