Hulu names Tian Lim new CTO

Today in a blog post on the company's website, Hulu CEO Mike Hopkins named the company's new upcoming Chief Technology Officer, Tian Lim. Lim isn't set to kick off his new CTO position until March 3, giving him another two weeks of wait. Before joining Hulu, Lim worked for Sony Network Entertainment International.

Brad Suter has been serving as Hulu's interim CTO over the past months while the company sought a permanent head; Suter will now be serving on the team and reporting directly to Tian. As mentioned, before joining Hulu, Tian worked as Sony's Senior Vice President of Product Engineering, overseeing the North American operations and leading a team of engineers.

Lim's team in particular focused on the engineering for the PlayStation store across the PS consoles and on the Web. That's not his only stint with working in the gaming industry, however. Lim also served for eight years at Microsoft's Xbox division, where he worked with development teams on things like the Kinect and Xbox Live.

Said Hulu CEO Hopkins, "Under Tian's leadership, with a world-class software development, operations and program management team behind him from our offices in Santa Monica to Seattle to Beijing, I know the future of our technology organization is extremely bright."
