The only people that I know that still watch TV are over 50. The 18-49 people really don’t watch as much, the internet has taken over for them. Cable is doomed.

I always considered it stupid to pay for TV shows that have already been aired free for all to see. there has to be some good Internet TV site that gets money like the over the air broad casters do through paid advertisements. I might have to watch a commercial but that is better than paying to see an Old TV show or one that was on television for free last night or a few months ago. Man oh man give the Public a break will you.

I cut the cord years ago, Hulu, netflix, Amazon, and crackle are my main sources of entertainment. Why the hell is this coming up now? wtf am I paying for Hulu Plus for if I have to show ownership of cable? Its certainly not ad free for paying customers, what exactly am I paying for?

Most of their content is available on free broadcast TV. But the corporations don’t care about that and our Congress is letting them carve up the market instead of competing for innovation and better pricing.

Our nation is falling behind in innovation purely so the rich get richer and can control politics more and more. The FCC is a joke, our broadband ‘market’ is a joke, our cellphone infrastructure is a joke. Our grandparents built an entire highway system and granted free access. But voters now just sit there and take it and pay more and more. Like those dumb small business owners voting Republican while their bills to monopolists get bigger and bigger and fewer and fewer people can afford their services. What a surprise we employ so few people, that we have no growth, that we have a broken gov’t.

If cable companies want customers back, they need to look into lowering their prices or offering a better product. This blackmail tactic is pathetic and ultimately futile. I’m a current Hulu subscriber but if they decide to go this route, they will lose me as a subscriber and I will still get my TV shows by other means. I’m not going back to cable until there is a complete reformation of their subscription plans. This, isn’t going to get subscribers back, it’s only going to bankrupt Hulu.

shows on the CW recently switched from a 72 hour delay to only 8 hours because they looked at their demographics and saw that if their didn’t audience didn’t watch it on traditional TV they never watched it at all and most of their audience are younger people that don’t watch lot of scheduled tv.

Instead of “punishing” their audience with crazy restrictions and delays Hulu should work to make their paid service more compelling and stop doing anti-consumer deals that force them to remove content randomly from seasons because of “viewing windows” and things like only having 2 episodes of a show available for months on end but never adding more or explaining if the show is gone.
