Hugh Laurie To Play Omni Corp CEO In RoboCop Remake

Your favorite pill-popping, limping TV diagnostician has landed a big role in the upcoming remake of the 80s classic geek flick RoboCop. Laurie will be playing the role of the evil CEO of Omni Corp. That was the bad guy in the original film who worked at the top of the ivory tower and was shot by Robocop at the end of the film after the battle with the robot that reminded me of a microphone.

The original RoboCop debuted in 1987 and follows the story of a police officer killed in the line of duty and brought back as a cyborg to fight crime. The catch was the CEO of the corporation behind his creation wanted to use RoboCop to his own ends. I can't wait for the movie to come out.

Other people in the movie include Gary Oldman, who plays the scientist that create RoboCop, Abbie Cornish will play RoboCop's wife, and Samuel L Jackson will play some sort of patriotic media mogul. It's been a while since I've seen the original Robocop, but I don't remember a media mogul in the 87 film. The script for the remake is being written by Josh Zetumer.
