Huawei Mate 9 specs leak tips 6GB RAM, 1440 x 2560 resolution

Back in late September we heard our first Huawei Mate 9 rumor that suggested the smartphone would come in a premium version that packed in 6GB of RAM and 256GB of storage space. Another rumor has popped up that claims the same 6GB of RAM and 256GB of storage and this time out there are some other specifications thrown in as well. The new rumor claims a 5.9-inch screen with resolution of 1440 x 2560.

The rumor also tips that the smartphone will have a Kirin 960 chipset packing an octa-core CPU and Mali-G71 MP8 GPU. The dual camera system on the rear of the phone includes a 20MP and a 12MP unit according to the source. Under the cameras is a fingerprint scanner that will unlock the smartphone and should work with mobile payment systems.

The operating system is tipped as Android 7.0. The rumor from September tipped pricing for the 256GB and 6GB RAM version of the Mate 9 to be around $700. That rumor also tipped multiple colors for the smartphone including an exclusive black color for the premium version, white, gold, brown, gray, and pink.

The front camera was previously tipped as an 8MP unit. Other versions of the smartphone will be offered with one having 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage and another with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Pricing for those versions is said to be $550 and $480 respectively. A 64GB version with dual SIM cards is tipped but no pricing details were offered. One thing we didn't know with the September rumor was when the Mate 9 would debut. That date is supposed to be November 3 and we will learn all the specs and official pricing then.
