Huawei Honor Note 8 launches packing 6.6-inch screen with 2k resolution

Rumors have been flying about the Huawei Honor Note 8 smartphone for a while now and only a few days back we heard that it could have a massive 6.6-inch screen. The smartphone has now gone official and it turns out that the rumor about screen size was accurate. The Note 8 has a 6.6-inch screen with 2560 x 1440 2k resolution and pixel density of 443ppi.

That big screen is a Super AMOLED unit and covers 105% NTSC color game and has a 70,000:1 contrast ratio. The smartphone has a 2.5D curved glass cover, aluminum back and a ceramic sand feel, whatever that means. The smartphone weighs 219 grams and is 7.18-inches thick. Huawei will offer the smartphone in platinum light gold, ice silver, and grey colors. Under the hood, the smartphone has a Kirin 955 processor made with a 16nm FinFET Plus manufacturing process.

The processor has eight cores with four A72 cores at 2.5GHz and four A53 cores at 1.8 GHz. Those CPU cores are paired with a Mali T880 MP4 GPU. The Note 8 has 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM and can be had with 32, 64, or 128GB of storage. Capacity for the battery is 4500mAh and Huawei claims with its power optimization the battery is good for 1.58 days of use. You could watch video on the smartphone for 13 hours straight.

The rear camera is a 13MP unit and the front camera is an 8MP unit. The rear camera has a F2.0 aperture and optical image stabilization. Networks supported include all 4G + networks, VoLTE, and others. Pricing for the 4GB RAM, 32GB version is 2299 Yuan, the 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage version is 2499 Yuan, and the 4GB RAM with 128GB storage version is 2799 Yuan.
