I think that HTC beats Samsung in most cases, and I hope that Google goes back to HTC for their next flagship Android phone.  (Even if Google could make their own, as they own Motorola now.)

]]> By: Anonymous http://www.slashgear.com/htc-ville-image-leaks-reveals-ultra-thin-android-4-0-ice-cream-sandwich-phone-25198105/#comment-157070 Anonymous Sat, 26 Nov 2011 17:14:00 +0000 http://www.slashgear.com/?p=198105#comment-157070 @rabidRotty & Tyler Moore.  It was a rhetorical question.  Yes I know that ICS can work with standard buttons as well as on screen Icons.  My point was that since the release of the Galaxy Nexus which uses no buttons,  it seems silly for any upcoming, high end Android phones to use permanent capacitive buttons.  To say that Sense requires them is a cop out, as HTC has been working hard at developing sense and surely they can redevelop it to use onscreen buttons.  The point being that manufacturers now have the ability to use bigger screen ins similar sized phones, as well as being able to use more of the screen space available.  It seems silly to not use it if you don’t absolutely have to.  I know that as far as I’m concerned, going forward I would only look for Android devices with no permanent capacitive buttons and would recommend others to do the same.

It just replaces Sense’s launcher. However, if the phone has an unlocked boot loader like a lot of HTC phones, you can install a vanilla Android ROM for a stock experience without Sense.
