HTC phones like this are great, I'm getting this one almost as soon as it comes out, the HTC Ville just looks so slick and has good colors and I like the back, it's also probably the thinnest HTC phone of all, if you compare it to the Nexus One, it looks alike, however the operating system is different and the sizes and features are a bit different, Sensa isn't the best operating system but is better than the one by Samsung, I forget what it's called...Anyway, it looks great and I'm waiting forward to when it comes out!

I'm not against releasing a new phone every 6 months but all the different names is confusing. They need to stick to one name for the flagship device, one for a cheapy and then have maybe 3 midrange phones with different enhanced features like enhanced audio or camera. They seem to be getting there with the XL and XE suffixes for the Sensation. If the Ville will eventually be called the Sensation XV or something then they'll be on the right track.

Actually, Sense is the reason I prefer HTC stuff. It's not so much the UI but the joined up supporting apps that I like. Maybe I'll switch to stock once developers at least keep one eye on the recently released preferred design specs but until then Sense is it.

Sense has:
-The ability to remove or add home screens (Up to 7)
-A "Kill All" button in the task manager
-The ability to swipe from the final desktop on one side to the other one (Carousel)
-Pinch to preview all home screens.

Improves on Stock in some cases, but:

The big downside: Heavily skinned.

Am I the only one that thinks its ridiculous that they are essentially releasing a phone with the same guts as most of the other phones on the market! The sensation, the amaze and whatever that other sensation with beats was. They all had the same specs as this. The only thing different is the upgrade to ICS, which is something the owners of the other phones deserve to receive in an update. This is a pathetic over saturation of the market with no concern for the people that are already using their products

Nice enough, but man Why would a company take a great looking UI and make it uglier just for the sake of differentiation? Some of the animations seem nice, but the rest I would rather pass on.

As a separate comment, of all the ICS OEM builds that have leaked thus far, I have yet to see a single one that improves on stock ICS in look and feel. there are a small handful of individual features that ICS could benefit from, such as:

- pinch desktop preview;
- dock carousel (allows you to add more than 4 apps to the dock);
- being able to swipe directly from the final desktop on one end to the final desktop on the other end;
- an X button in the app switcher (like the one in the notification panel) that allows you to terminate all listed apps in one touch if you want to); and
- the ability to expand or reduce the number of desktops beyond the stock 5.

On the tablet build of ICS I would also add an option to allow you to reverse the positions of the notification bar and the app drawer from where they are placed by default (putting the app drawer at the bottom (where our thumb can more easily get to it), and the notification panel at the top (where it is easier to see).

Lastly I would make sure that any device using vanilla ICS by default cam preloaded with the full range of Google apps, and allowed the user to delete what they didn't want (not just disable them).

Again, these are just tiny suggestions I would enjoy having, but none are critical to my enjoyment of ICS, which IMHO is brilliant thus far.
