HTC Touch HD full WVGA WM6.1 smartphone shows up

Details of the HTC's next Windows Mobile 6.1 Pro smartphone have emerged, and while little is currently known for sure about the handset it's already shaping up to be the next must-have for mobile pros.  Called the Touch HD, the most impressive feature looks to be the WVGA touchscreen display.  Connectivity includes HSDPA and WiFi for high-speed browsing, together with GPS.

Measuring a compact 115mm x 62.8mm x 12mm, navigation on the Touch HD is totally stylus based.  The Touch HD has no D-pad or scroll-wheel, and only minimal hardware controls.  You'll also find a 5-megapixel camera, though no flash.  Under the hood, it's based on Qualcomm's 528MHz 7201A CPU with 512MB ROM and 256MB RAM.  The processor itself also has a built-in 32MB capacity.

The Touch HD is expected to be in stores by Christmas.  It will have a microSD slot for memory expansion and music fans will be pleased to a 3.5mm headset on the top of the smartphone.  Power is via a 1350mAH battery, though battery life is still uncertain.  Expect to hear plenty more about this impressive looking smartphone very soon!
