The 16GB onboard memory sounds nice, but the ommision of an SD card is a massive disappointment – to talk of listening to music and watching video, then limit the storage space is plain crazy. I know that the Cloud is where it will happen … it just won’t be happening until we have decent and universal 3G/4G coverage here in the UK. Until then we will need storage in our devices.

As people have said, this is probably aimed at the ‘bass strong’ teenage/twenties market, and I hope that it does well for them. I prefer the cutting edge, ground breaking tech from my Smart Phone, rather than an average (by todays standards) spec phone which has been made pretty by adding My Little Pony – Clearly, it’s for girls!

I think this one is more likely to be a bestselling female Android handset, not the Rhyme, which appears to be a very… underdeveloped one.

Seeing this (XL) to be released makes me worry about HTC… They are slipping. What they really need is a single good device, with genuine design, and a flexible Sense UI, so it could be switched quickly between ‘visual profiles’, so different audiences will be able to tailor handset to their needs – basically a few variations of launchers, media players and camera apps. and a guided android market wrapper.
