Im sure she would (with my help and unless your mum is against the avarage im sure you helped her) but thats not the point i am making. Android is great for us geeks for us it rocks much like linux does but just like linux android is now passed into the mass market and in Androids case dominated it but its not a good system for normal users. It seems simple to us but for mr and mrs smith its nothing but a confusing mess. esp when you get multiple market places and multiple friends lists etc. Also its not the curriers fault its the developers who make the bloatware. They can say no i wont mess up or phone with rubbish but they dont! at the end of the day just because the currier askes for something does not mean you have to do it as a company your product is your brand and your image and anything that goes with that is on you!

hay Mr Doe once again your small brain has missed the point. Why should customers have to root (and thus void the warrenty) there phones just to rid it of rubbish that sinks battery life and slows performance? Maybe we should just all be devs and write our own custom roms all the time? I am sure my mum would be great at that. Android is an amazing os i love it i really do but it is dire for the normal user and esp worse when the devices are trashed regardless of if the carriers ask for it or not. You love affair with google is mental! not the love of the os its a good os as i said but this blinker you have that says google is god and anything other than that is rubbish. As you know i followed you after some really funny stuff you posted about windows phone and you dont fail in keeping up this dribble. I love it keeep up the good work as the more you comment the better you make everything else look.

So you feel that AT&T required HTC manage multitasking differently? But they haven’t requested Motorola or Samsung to manage multitasking the same way? I’m not with ya on this one. This was HTC trying to prioritize their Sense overlay, because it was one of their selling points in past phones, IMO.

Yes on behalf of Carrier requests. HTC first used touch Flow3D which later became Sense on the HTC Hero. It was at the request of Tmobile to differentiate they from the crowd. The rest is history. Do you honestly think OEM “hardware manufacturers” want to get into the software business, its just another burden in their manufacturing line.

OEM requests? So you’re saying it’s not HTC’s fear of commoditization in a crowded android market which makes them put an entire layer of custom resource sucking software on top of stock Android? I don’t believe that to be true at all.

HTC only puts what the carriers request. If it was up to the OEMs they would prefer to leave the phones stock, Its less work for them. When the carriers request crap ware its the OEMs that later on have to take there time to write updates to satisfy the carriers.
All this may change when Google starts to release their new Nexus line at very competitive prices to go against the subsidized prices of the carriers.
