Pls..help me…I leave in Delhi, India.
I hv HTC onex (not at&t) 32gb quad core Indian model. yesterday I downloaded updates of 4.1
of almost 360 mb.
but don’t know how to install..
on the notification bar it shows …system updates are ready, click to install…
but when I click on it..it goes to a command prompt type screen , says..restart,
same as cm10 type.
I thinks it is demanding clockwork mode or root type apps..but I don’t want to root it coz ..of warranty condition
pls..hefp urgently

While the AT&T update and bloatware are pretty useless and hideously crafted apps, the phone itself is really not bad.

I thought I was the only one who was having nothing but problems with this update, but I was wrong. If anyone is thinking about updating your phone, DON’T! My phone sucks now. My phone was running so fast and smooth, now it is so slow and lags on everything! Very very DISAPPOINTED!

This update ruined my phone. My WiFi doesn’t work now, and the phone randomly resets itself constantly. It also locks up probably 20+ times per day. Worst update I have ever had the displeasure of applying. Now I have to go to the trouble of backing up everything and learning how to root the phone so that I can go back to ICS. I have spent about 4 hours today trying to get this thing to work to no avail. That’s what I get for breaking my rule of “if it aint broke, don’t fix it”. Honestly, the only reason I did is because ATT named it “an important security update”. What a PITA.

mine won’t update when I check for AT&T software updates even when I’m on wifi, I just called an AT&T store and the guy said that the HTC ONE x is not getting the update

Upgraded but noticed a problem with the front facing camera for self portraits. The software appears to be applying some post processing that ends up darkening the eyes and lightening the face, looks creepy and completely ruins the image. This is occurring indoors in mediocre lighting. Haven’t had a chance to try outdoors. But I noticed now even with the front camera on objects, after taking a snap some kind of image adjustment is happening because the images are not what they originally appear as on the screen (unlike before the upgrade). I have image adjustments set to default, no +/- anything.

I’ve tried all of the methods mentioned here and my phone still doesn’t show any update. Even called att support and they told me that jellybean isn’t out on the HTC one x yet, even though my friend was able to load it yesterday. Ideas?

I had to restart my phone then change the date to one month ahead. after that i got a notification saying important sofware available please turn on wifi to begin update finnaly got jellybean :D

When I go to “check for updates” and click on it, nothing happens. It won’t even check. There is no error message or anything, just no reaction at all. I am connected to wifi and cellular. I have tried so many things and I cannot get it to even check for the update. I love this phone and want this update so bad but I am getting so frustrated that I can’t get it. Any help would be appreciated!! I have done the check in and rebooted and still nothing…

Just change the date manually and you can bypass the wait time, same thing happened to me. Also the roll out is based on timezones therefore if you set your date forward you’ll get the update faster

I live in Alaska. and I had the update loading at 60 percent and I had to go to work so the WiFi went off. and I go back to the check update and it tells me it’s already up to date. and that I have to wait 23 hours to try again. it’s pissing me off

I just got the update today and I am not phone expert however the att technical told me you have to be on WiFI and the mobile network on in order to get any updates. I previously had been only on wifi. so try that. setting att software update

1. There is no Settings > About > Check for Updates on the ATT One X
2. Settings > AT&T Software Update > Check for Updates spins for anywhere between 1 and 35 minutes and returns to the Check for Updates screen.
3. This is by far the worst phone I’ve ever had the displeasure of owning.
