HTC Magic lands free on Vodafone UK May 5th

The HTC Magic has been listed for pre-order from Vodafone UK, ahead of an expected May 5th launch.  Announced back at Mobile World Congress in February, the Magic will be priced from free in the UK (contract depending); it has a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen, HSDPA and WiFi, and will be the second generally-available Android handset after the T-Mobile G1.

Other specs include a 3.2-megapixel camera and GPS, together with the usual suite of Google apps including GMail and Street View.  The Magic was first expected to launch this month, but that has been pushed back to May 5th.

The HTC Magic will be free on 18-month Vodafone contracts priced from £35 ($51) upward.  However the cheapest contract is £15 ($22), though the phone is then priced at £293.62 ($428).
