I sweared not to get a virtual keyboard EVER! All of them sock! even the iPhone one.
BUT this phone changed my thinking. It has the wider screeen but amazingly the phone is not wider than the B Bold 900. Wider screen means bigger virtual keys faster typing less mistakes. Look at the screen width (not the phone width for these phones: (Note: Screen WIDTH not DIAGONAL -in inches and Cm)
HTC HD2 2.21″ – 5.62 cm
TOSHIBA 2.11 – 5.36
TOUCH HD 1.96 – 4.96
STORM 1.95 – 4.95
IPHONE 1.94 – 4.93 diff 7mm That’s a LOT
OMNIA II 1.90 – 4.83
TOUCH PRO2 1.85 – 4.70
MOTO DROID 1.81 – 4.60 diff 1 cm This is enough for another finger!!!!

Because there is no hardware switch to instantly silence the phone like the iPhone. How would you conveniently silence the HD2 without taking the usual extra steps. I see that android 2.0 has an onscreen silence toggle on the unlock bar which I hope this phone can have one too. I also wonder how copy and paste will behave now that the screen is not multitouch capable.

OMG, such a cool phone, but have you seen the pictures from the camera???, CRAP!, why would you build a phone of this nature and then put in a 5mp CMOS camera, it is truly awful.

I have pre-ordered one of these, but after seeing the camera quality i am thinking of canceling.

Will they ever build the perfect phone…

The best review thus far!
Now we have facts on the latest and greatest.
Two unresolved questions I have before taking out my 3rd mortgage for purchase:
Comparing the HD2 to the Omnia II, which display is better?
In the sunlight?
The cameras seem comparable, but the Omnia II has quite a bit more software assist (although the results are reported questionable). Which weighs in better?

Those who have hands on experience (both of you), please comment, if possible.

Touch HD never made to stateside so I doubt we'll ever see the HD2...I take that back! CEO Peter Chou has confirmed that HTC will be offering a US 3G version of the HD2 in Q1 2010
