HTC Flyer 7-inch tablet due March, plus two slates in June?

HTC is tipped to be launching three tablets in the first half of 2011, with the first model – the HTC Flyer – expected to begin shipping in the US come March. According to DigiTimes sources, the Flyer resembles an oversized Desire smartphone and will run Android 2.3, but with an update to Android 3.0 Honeycomb supposedly planned when Google releases the updated OS.

According to the handset component supply tipsters, the Flyer will be followed by two different tablets in June 2011, each running on Android 3.0 Honeycomb. All three will be pushed via HTC's established connections with carriers, with availability for the Flyer outside of the US expected in Q2 2011.

No hardware details for the slates have been revealed, including screen sizes or processors. However, SlashGear has heard independently that among the new devices HTC plans to showcase at MWC 2011 next month will be a 7-inch tablet that could well be the Flyer.
