My 2yr old EVO 4G lens has a grand total of 0 scratches. Don’t store your phone in sandpaper and you shouldn’t have a problem.

The camera lens is actually behind the removable glossy plastic black part (above the kickstand basically) where the SD card resides. Quite a brilliant design on HTC’s part in my opinion. Now, the One X is another story. That lens will get scratched like crazy.
