I LOVE MY HTC EVO. I can download MP3′s slice them and set up as ring tones or SMS sounds immediately. I can even use the application called ZEDGE and download and set up directly. I think that with the iPhone you have to use Itunes and go through steps just the do the same. I also like the big screen on the evo because i can read articles much better. The only problem is that they are taking for ever to put the 4G wii max in my area, luckily i get it at home ( Downtown, Los Angeles)

My wife has a first generation iPhone and is jealous of my Evo. This phone is NOT slow doing anything, the ringer is loud, the screen size is wonderful and everything actually works! Battery life depends not on how MUCH, but HOW you use it… much like any other battery operated device. Evo rocks! [Previously had an HTC Touch with Windows Mobile and they would have to give me the phone and two years of unlimited free service for me to use a Windows phone again.]

isnt it just an excuse for the iPhone if you dont hav AT&T? i mean, im sure i would like this phone but the opening screen looks laggy and android slide screens are laggy @ most times. does this hav an LED screen?

The only “killer” thing about it is the network, the a4 chip is 1 ghz too, why do they act as if the htc is killer due to there chip? And the screen and phone is bigger? since when does that make a phone better? its just more of a hassle. Apple has way better design too. I cnt wait till apple opens it to more networks, it will be a HTC “killer” haha

I just got a chance to play around with this phone for about 20 minutes. I actually work for sprint and we get to toy around with these devices about 2 weeks before actual release dates. This phone is far superior to anything I have seen from any manufacturer recently. The processor is drop-dead fast (1ghz). The 4G data speeds are phenomenal. Even the 3G speeds leave AT&T and Verizon far behind. The 4.3 inch LCD takes the cake though. Friday, June 4th, I’ll be in line for the HTC EVO at 6am xD

Hmm… just noticed one thing in the specs that I _really_ don’t like! It only supports 65,535 colors! Why in the world would they not have used a display capable of 16.7 million colors (like the palm pre, and most other high end smartphones out there)!? Especially, on a screen this big!

I’m with Makaveli96 how load is it? As for me I’m a firm beliver in “let me turn it down” can’t stand a phone thats at full volume and Ican’t hear it! make it for us old farts that can not hear so good. like the droid my daughter has.

Not to be a real ass, but i have seen alot of the Htc Evo 4g videos and every time they show the main screen of the phone the weather patterns dont go full screen like the HTC HD2 does frequently. However i can be wrong.

How is this phones speaker quality??? Is it as loud as the Iphone ( Which is pretty loud ) or is it at equal maximum volume as the HTC HD2??? ( Which is not so loud )

As a person who loves to enjoy movies, i hope that this phone would live up to its Bad ass screen as it does its sound quality. That watching movies would be no problem at all w/o earphones to enjoy the theatrical experience. = )

Yes it does. Runs a new version of HTC Sense for Android 2.1. I’m running the in-between step and it has full screen weather animations. You do need to have the clock widget with weather, but that’s easy.

The size ofthis is only about a half-centimeter taller and 2 millimeters wider than the iphone… That’s hardly much bigger!

Finally, a phone that has all the best features of the best phones out there, and then some! Only thing missing is a physical keyboard, but with such a large touch screen, it’s really not necessary I guess.

Only thing I see as a downside is that the camera sticks out, meaning if you put it down on a desk, you’re liable to scratch up the glass (hopefully it’s not plastic). Perhaps someone will come out with a replacement backplate that will better protect the lens…

Also the presentor in the video mentioned the autofocus was “digital autofocus”, which is really just applying sharpen or unsharp mask filters to a fixed-focus image. not sure if that’s really the case, but it would be a downside (optical autofocus would be much better). Hopefully he was referring to the zoom, not the focus.

I like the size of the EVO because I think the extra screen space is a huge plus. I have EVO on my ‘keep an eye on’ list. It looks and sounds awesome!

I had a HTCHD2 in hand and it’s quite BIG.
I will stick with the size of the Iphone & the Nexus. The Evo is too big

I believe I will give up on my iPhone and move to the HTC EVO. It’s a killer phone in every way.
