HTC Eternity 4.7-inch Windows Phone Mango handset hits FCC

HTC's very first Windows Phone Mango handset called the HTC Eternity has just passed through the FCC, ready for an imminent launch. The major Windows Phone update is rumored to start rolling out as soon as tomorrow with all the major manufacturing partners expected to debut their first Mango handsets during IFA 2011.

Very few details have been revealed about the HTC Eternity and the FCC filing also gives little in the way of clues, except that it has won approval for GSM bands 850 and 1900 with no mention of WCDMA bands. But there have been plenty of rumors on the device, which is expected to sport a whopping 4.7-inch WVGA Super LCD touchscreen. And you thought the 4.5-inch displays on the Samsung Infuse and the recent Galaxy S II variants were big?

Inside, the Eternity is rumored to have a 1.5GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 processor, 512MB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage. It's also expected to have a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera and a rear-facing 8-megapixel camera capable of 720p HD video capture.
