HTC Desire HD spotted in wild running Froyo

HTC's upcoming Desire HD has apparently leaked into the wild, with a photo of the 3G-only EVO 4G showing up on forum Uwants.  According to the screenshot, the Desire HD is running Android 2.2 Froyo with HTC's own Sense UI on top; we're expecting it to have a 4.3-inch WVGA display, like the EVO 4G, but lack WiMAX connectivity.

There's also an 8-megapixel autofocus camera, 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and 4GB of internal memory, along with a microSD card, 720p HD video capture, WiFi and Bluetooth.  Obviously the usual GPS and digital compass are on board, together with SRS Audio, Xvid playback and Flash 10.1 support.

Leaks from Vodafone Germany earlier this month suggested that the HTC Desire HD was likely fast incoming, though so far the company themselves has not officially acknowledged the smartphone.  Still, with the success of the HTC EVO 4G in the US, it's not hard to believe that a UMTS/HSPA-only version for the European market was high on HTC's agenda.
