HP Windows 7 announcement clarified: "we are not dropping Windows 8"

This week HP released details on how they'd continue to release devices with the Windows 7 operating system onboard. This is far from unheard of in the PC universe, with major PC manufacturers releasing devices with multiple operating systems – whatever the consumer wants, in the end. HP was quickly questioned on how they could possibly stop supporting devices with Windows 8 aboard, to which they responded: "WE ARE NOT DROPPING WINDOWS 8."

The idea that HP would toss out Microsoft's newest operating system from their network of devices entirely is not one that HP seems to have ever considered seriously. Instead, they've taken to the web to speak on today, they've only ever meant to keep with their always-active policy of giving the user what they want. That's choice, and that means more than just one operating system.

Here HP also made clear that every single one of the devices they're offering with Windows 7 also has a Windows 8 version available right out of the box. It only really depends on what the customer wants – and of course, Windows 7 devices can be upgraded to Windows 8 as well, with ease.

HP also spoke up about how they even offered PCs with Android running on them this season. One of these is the HP Slate21 Pro with its massiveness and its working with the NVIDIA Tegra 4 quad-core processor. Then there's the HP SlateBook x2, a tablet with a keyboard that also makes use of the NVIDIA Tegra 4.

The team at HP responsible for selling their devices with a choice of operating systems wants you to know that they'll give you a device with Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, or with Android if you like. This appears to have never been a political issue for the brand, and they're adamant about the public knowing it.
