Why cant it be both? Unfortunately the majority of developers/programmers understand very little about design and they truly struggle trying to market functionality without a decent UI.

Looks like something you can do work on, as opposed to iMacs which seem like toys.

Is the hardware Linux/BSD friendly? Kind of pointless to call it a workstation if it doesn’t support operating systems you can actually do serious work on.

Seriously? You think Apple’s Mac Pro inspires desire? How does that happen? I think Apple computers are the most boring computers ever to be made. If I didn’t have to use one for XCode, I would never turn on an Apple computer because after I pressed the button to boot, I am already bored of it!
