HP’s TouchSmart PC may not have MultiTouch but it’s still proving popular; despite the $1,249.99 starting price tag I’ve heard many people say they plan on picking one up.  The 22-inch high-definition desktop was meant to launch on July 13th, but according to HP’s online store the IQ504 model and IQ506 model are actually shipping today.

Your money gets you, in the case of the entry-level IQ504, an Intel Core2 Duo T5750 CPU, 4GB of RAM, integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 with 128MB dedicated memory, a 320GB 7,200rpm HDD, slot-load DVD burner and b/g/draft-n WiFi.  For $1,449.99, the IQ506 boosts the processor to a T5850, adds an NVIDIA GeForce 9300 M GS HD graphics module with 256MB dedicated RAM, increases storage to 500GB and introduces a TV tuner.

GottaBeMobile’s Sierra Modro was at a Berlin launch event for the TouchSmart, and shot the following showcase demo.  She describes it as far more impressive than you might guess from photos and the spec-list.  Any SlashGear readers planning to pick one up themselves?
