Homebrew tools exist for the TP…check out webosinternals..they are always working on new things.

I am also looking forward to this update. Mine has been working really well, very fast and responsive, but I also see some bugs that need ironing out. Hope they get resolved and that movie store (and Netflix?) show up as well.

Had touchpad for a week now and still finding neat things (and bugs).  Love the way it snarfed up my Palm Pre environment (3 hotmail accounts, 2 facebook accounts, skype account) and ‘synergistically’ integrating them all on the TouchPad… mail from all, contacts/calendar from all, pictures from facebook, etc.  …spent more time simply turning off account connections (eg to calendar) than configuring!)

Pairing with my Palm Pre Plus still questionable… need cleaner way to specify if I want Skype or phone to do voice/video or SMS.  SMS still not working correctly…

Stunned this morning when I received a call, both phone and touchpad rung, I answered on the phone but the voice came out of the touchpad across the room!

Looking forward to the upgrade and probably need an upgrade to the phone too to better handle this hand-off between the two…. But THIS does work:  set an appointment on my phone, go home and see it is also on my touchpad…. time comes and both alert me.  Link wife’s and my hotmail calendars, she puts an appointment in her Pre, show up in my exchange (hotmail) calendar on the PC and appears in the webos calendars on both my phone and touchpad!

Box.net offers 50GB of cloud storage to touchpad users…. LogMeIn seems to work to allow me to get to my PC from my TP…. skype video calls to grandkids….

Now:  I want the picture, video, document and music libraries on my Pre to be ‘synergistically’ merged with my TP and ‘cloud’ directories of the same name;  I want my Palm Pre camera (and mike) to be remotely controlled from my TP;  I want to install the ‘homebrew’ tools to allow me to hack down to the Linux level;  I want a lot more, now having seen the potential here.  …and I think it is coming.
