Spoken like someone who truly doesn't know wha they're talking about. The iPad has apps for everyone, I have dozens of useful apps on mine and everyone I know with one has their own selection, all higher quality than you'll find elsewhere.

As for business. I work with a wide and ever changing mix of businesses. iPads are VERY popular across them all, from small cafe owners to CEOs of oil companies, tech admins to event organisers.

How many apps are actually useful and productive on the iPad. Answer: A small amount.
I think it's ridiculous when people (a few I've seen so far) say "I'll buy if they start selling it at 99$"... Come on.
The Touchpad may be thicker and heavier than the Ipad2, OK. But how the hell is that such a deal breaker?! Seems to me it's a psychological need to have something that the general public agrees as being "better" - and it's a snowball from there.

The SW is absolutely great. The multitasking, the developer support, the clarity and intuitiveness, the accessories or the synergy [not to mention more] are just not given enough credit for!

Honestly, it may not have as many apps - but it's not exactly poor either. But, and speaking about the OSs, look at Windows Phone 7, for example, they have no apps either but they're already being praised all around! Where's the app dependency there!?

Be serious people. The Touchpad is a hell of a tablet.

Personally? I would take a TouchPad over an iPad2 any day. I played with one a while back, and was much more pleased with it than an iPad 2.

That being said, most likely the #1 reason why its not selling, is that the average person has no idea what webOS is. For the longest time, I thought webOS was a far inferior OS than iOS, Android, WP7 and to and extent Blackberry OS. BUT once I started digging and looking (researching) it, I found out, its (easily one of the best, if not the best. The people I know who have webOS devices LOVE, LOVE their device.
Matter of fact that #1 reason why its not selling (or not selling like the iPad) could be put to about all non-iPad tablets. People, first don't know that they exist, and if they do know that they exist, they don't have an idea what they are. All they know its an tablet and thats about it. Personally? And along with several other people I know? An iPad would be like our #4 or #5 tablet choice. Because we have researched around in the tablet world and found tablets that (we) think are just better tablets than the iPad2. The iPad is a nice tablet, but it just seems that there is just better tablets than it. But, People won't know that if they don't inform themselves on tablets and that could easily be the reason why other tablets aren't selling that well. Because people haven't informed themselves and (basically) let the media inform themselves on what tablets to buy. Ironically, what the media harps around on or whats the most popular, tends not to be the best thing out there. Ironically, the best things are the things that are NOT in the spotlight or the most popular. That being said, HP needs NOT to give up. Give time. Advertise this hugely, show of what's it capable of. Ironically, the #1 largest feature, was (rarely) talked about in reviews. Synergy. That's what really makes this tablet stand out from the rest. Synergy. But ironically, its hardly ever mentioned. What I think HP needs to do is go back to the drawing board and redesign all there webOS devices. All the webOS devices are great, but when people start comparing them to other devices, well, they don't look all that impressive. First, they would need like a 4.3 inch all touch screen phone (with a metal back) and a smaller, 4 inch screen phone with keyboard. stick dual core CPU in there, w/ at least 1GB memory, 16/32/64GB storage capacities with 8MP rear camera and 2MP front camera. That will help hugely with the phones, because they would look hardware wise, equal to the Top end Android handsets and son to be, iPhone handset. Tablet wise, it needs to go on a diet, and get a metal body. Also add a 8MP rear camera and 2MP front camera with a 64/128GB storage options. That way, it dosen't look inferior to the competition.webOS is really great. I don't want it to die. But, I think in the long term, it will become more popular. One good thing is, that webOS may start license soon, and Samsung is apparently quite interested in making webOS handsets. So, a webOS samsung Galaxy S II would really help webOS take off. But, if HP start rolling handsets out like these high-end android devices, that would really help boost webOS up.
