Strange - Nowhere in this review or the comments did I see anything about security concerns, nor any mention of how (or really IF) it interfaces with a printer. Is there a firewall, virus scanner, virus active protection, etc.???? Does it remember all logins & passwords even if you don't want it to, or can you selectively log into and out from various accounts aa you prefer??? What about cache flush and in-private browsing??? Can't believe no mention about any of these necessary points.

I really like this tablet.

Programs open and close quickly. I have not had a problem with the
TouchPad slowing down in performance. Even though I've had many
programs open and running at the same time.

The lack of Apps is a minor problem for me. I've actually found
that the web browser opens and plays everything thrown at it. I've
enjoyed Crackle movies, Hulu+, Amazon Cloud Player (20 GB of music),
Facebook Games. I don't need an app if a bookmark can do the same
thing. I would like the ability to save a bookmark to the launcher.

WebOS synergy is wonderful. Everything is linked together and easy to use.

The audio is fantastic. The stereo speakers sound good and even
have a little bass. Connect headphones to the tablet and you can really
hear the Beats Audio.

Battery life is good.

The tablet is slick. I purchased a case, which is rubberized and fixes the uneasy feeling of it dropping.

I have the Touchpad connected to a touchstone. It plays a slideshow
of all of my linked pictures while it charges. I can now get rid of
that Kodak Photo Frame and replace it with a better screen in the
Touchpad.

I want to trade 2 laptops I have, 1 is working and the other needs a hard drive. The working laptop is an HP ZE4600 and the other is a DV4000. The DV4000 is nicer. I wanted to get a hard drive for the 4000 but i'm thinking I really don't want to hassle with it and just try Craigslist for a trade. The 4600 isn't cutting it for me anymore with what I need my laptop for. http://slimfuel.org/

Thanks for the response! I just didn't want to think that you guys at slashgear were ignoring or oblivious to processors. I still find it hard to buy Qualcomm's statements though, since their dual core Snapdragon is basically a dual core version of the same snapdragon in phones like the thunderbolt and incredible 2, and that one was more on par with cortex a8 processors like the Hummingbird. Not to mention how the scorpion cores are mostly in order while a9 is capable of out of order processing. Like you said though, if they can deliver in real world performance then that's all I need. And I'm very excited for their next Gen Krait cores, which promise to outperform the upcoming a15.

These don't really seem to have a market -- not really business or consumer oriented. Something tells me we won't see ports for this line of devices in automobiles anytime soon ;)

This is an interesting topic, and it's one we're actually planning on writing about soon. I've talked to Qualcomm and the other chip manufacturers, and it doesn't just come down to the A9/A8 split. Qualcomm's argument is that it custom designs its cores - they're not just the same A8 as in, say, the OMAP3000 series - and that in fact its dual-core chips are not only faster than Tegra 2, but they'll be faster than NVIDIA's upcoming Kal-El (see http://www.slashgear.com/qualcomm-were-not-worried-about-nvidia-kal-el-09158251/ for more details).

In the end, though, it's real-world performance that really matters, and that's based hugely on what software you're actually running on the SoCs.

I love reading the articles on this site, but I have to say, it's getting annoying the way they keep referring to 1.2 GHz dual core Snapdragons to be faster than Tegra 2 and Apple's A5, even if they're saying "on paper". The Tegra 2 and A5 both use Cortex A9 cores, which are about 25% faster than Cortex A8 cores used in the A4, Hummingbird, OMAP 3000 series. The custom Scorpion cores in the Snapdragon processor is about equal to Cortex A8, at best being just a bit faster.

Sorry if I'm being anal about this, but I just think that as a tech site, they should get this information right. I'm not saying they're completely wrong either. At 1.2 GHz, the dual core Snapdragon is certainly competitive with 1 GHz dual core Cortex A9 processors, but benchmarks have still shown the Snapdragon to be a bit behind the curve.

Most reviews are positive, yet not perfect. WebOS is a really nice OS. I believe it just needs time to grow up more apps. The Android platform did not become a threat to iOS overnight. Too bad the Pre3 is not available yet, otherwise i might have traded my iPad for the TouchPad.

They just need to sort out the exisiting app catalog into touchpad resolution... the number isn't a problem. Of the 200000 ios and android apps there are only about 1000 good ones in both anyway.
