If it has true multi-tasking, FLASH, and other features everyone is asking for, than people like me who don’t use apps may be interested. However, HP was going to release a tablet before and never did. So I won’t even believe anything they say until they actually release something.

I think you will be surprised how many consumers will be willing to accept a non ipad alternative. HP, Moto, Samsung, RIM these aren’t exactly unproven companies. They have created some really good hardware in the past. It looks like they finally have some great software and UI to backup the hardware.

But I agree with you the pricing seems a little high. I don’t think they need to go lower than the ipad, but I do think they need to match it. So far no one has shown an entry level WIFI only honeycomb/webos/rim tablet in the $500 range. That would be a real winner.

Companys like HP and Moto have no clue what the market will bear for these products. They think they are making hardware/software that will be accepted by the market place. But until it is proven why should we accept that it is better?

HP and Moto, get real with your pricing and maybe we the consumers will accept your devices.

This is not a good price.

The +3G version shouldn’t cost more than $500 to be a real success.

Again another bad pricing decision. These tablets have to undercut the ipad in order to compete.

This isn’t really telling us anything. We don’t know which model this is. For all we know this will be the lowest end WiFi only model.

I think HP is doing the same thing as Moto–leaking some prices to get a feel for the market.

That price does put it $100 below the HP Slate. If the Touchpad doesn’t come in below the HP Slate with similar hardware that will really hurt it, I think.
