The original sale was $150 after rebate, without the purchase of a PC, they just stopped the sale after the article was written. At the time all the comments were written, if you clicked the link provided by the article, you could see exactly that. I was able to purchase a 32GB HP touchpad for $300, I did not have to purchase anything else, and now I am mailing in the $150 rebate for a total of $150.

Yeah but the point of the article was that you can get a Touchpad for $150 after rebate (not $300). If the rebate requires an additional purchase (which is clear on the TigerDirect site, as well as other shops), then it should have been included in the details somewhere.

All the users on this site were able to spot this except the article writer. It’s hard to miss this even if you’re rushing to post this article.

Do yourself a favor and actually read the entire article before commenting on it. A link to the touchpad only for $300 is provided, yet it’s not available any more.

They did have the touchpad only for sale at $300, which you can see by clicking the link provided in the article. They just only sold a limited amount at that price, then started selling it with the Laptop.

I probably shouldn’t be writing this comment since others users have already mentioned this but seriously, slashgear… Buying a Desktop, Laptop or workstation is a requirement that’s pretty clear. This additional purchase has to be made at the same time you buy the Touchpad.

I have Slashgear added to my RSS feeds for a while but lately you guys haven’t even being doing the basics. If it isn’t fanboyism, it’s incomplete posts posts like these. You have a good thing going with this site (many hits, many comments) – a little objective professionalism is needed before you begin to implode.

I believe you have to buy a laptop with it as well. See the terms and conditions. . . .its a bit sneaky.

Actually you have to buy a PC or laptop at same time to get the rebate.
