I love the dock, get back to my desk, and plop it down on the dock (i hope it fires a acpi event or similar), sit down at the desktop and watch synergy++ just work.

I’d like a 1900×1080 screen, but as I understand it, windows still doesn’t render fonts “properly”, as DPI is assumed to be 72 in both directions, so i’m not holding out for that.

Well the Slate does pretty much everything that I need. The dock looks awesome. Glad to finally see it since I’ve been wondering about what ports it will have. With the dock the HP Slate will have 3 USB ports and an HDMI out. I will definitely be hooking one up with the dock and a USB keyboard.

Can’t wait to see some good pics and size comparisons. That foreign site is terrible.

I think this is going to be an awesome device. I don’t think HP could have done much more to improve it. It has 2 cameras and even pen support. Wow! I hope I don’t have to wait much longer (early June I hope). They’ve been teasing this since January.

Why not? it’s not a “portable device” it’s a tablet netbook. I’m not sure that it belongs being compaierd to a iPad. Did they do any tweaking to the boot process to improve speed, or is it just a stock win7 install for now?

Also i hope it’s open enough that I get access to install a new OS (gentoo+xfce) if i want. I’d really like a tegra2 based one, but there are no linux drivers for the GPU on that yet.

IMO #HPSlate= #failed Full OS on a portable device isn’t ideal. Bloated (expensive) app
