I believe that most advertised battery life claims are taken from the system being idle (not in sleep state, but powered on and not doing anything), which is in line with AMD’s claims with their x86/x64 Bobcat-based APUs. They’re due to release the updated APU here soon, with an improved Tablet version as well, so it’s quite possible to use that. If it uses an Atom though, they’re only screwing themselves since it simply doesn’t have the GPU power for much less then general computing.

8-10 hours of battery sounds more like it’ll run Windows 8 RT (ARM) version cus I doubt an x86/64 chip can last that long. Would like to be proven wrong tho :D

Chill. I wouldn’t take some blogger’s word for it. Most articles about this thing call it “digital pen” or “pen input” which sounds about like the same N-Trig that’s now in Slate 500. Not as good as Wacom but burns less battery and is infinitely better than a capacitive stylus.

It’s call partnering… Face it HP excels at making hardware, and Microsoft at software (whether you like it or not). HP really didn’t want the burden of dealing with both. HP and Microsoft have been partners in the desktop/server space for more than a decade – tablets are just another form factor, and it should work out great for both.

yeah. capacitive pan is a major FAIL. Not only are they, well, highly crappy, but ANY capacitive tablet can use a $5 capacitive pen.

I know this is business oriented but I hope it won’t fail on the consumer side of things like hi res screen and high GPU support.

HP sickens the hell out of me! They couldn’t make a nice webOS tablet like this but they can for Microsoft?! That’s just plain wrong and Stupid!!! I will never buy a product from them! I will also tell my friends and family and everyone I can to just stay away from HP!!!

When it will go on fire sale for $99 as Hp touchpad went I will prefer buying it.
