I think it is a good product. Only two things worry me:
1. Poor processor choice…they could have picked an ultra SULV intel processor…..or a slower core 2 duo.
2. Memory up to 4 gigs.
3. Smaller digital pen with a slot for the pen….BTW…is the pen wacom?
4. A screen size equal to that of the ipad.
5. Better battery life.
6. Built in 3G or 4G.
7. Better sleek design.
However , it is a full OS…..which is great!
I may still but this thing….I am waiting for a few more user reviews. I hope microsoft and HP did not mess up this product.

I agree it looks good for business use, however $800 for a netbook is pretty steep. Get it’s cost down to netbook range and I could see it as a second pc to use when away from the desk. Some might use it in place of a laptop, however the resolution is too low for my preferences. I like the flexibility it has to use all our existing technology.

The problem I have with this is the processor/memory options. Atom processors suck and are barely usable except for the most basic of features. I would gladly give up some battery time for something with a good processor in it with the same form factor.

Also, I would LOVE to see something with the “docking station” like the one ASUS is planning to offer with the EP121 where you can basically make it a laptop or use it as a slate/tablet.

I believe that many a Business could use this TABLET COMPUTER. .This and the soon coming EXO PC are interesting devices. I have to get the Battery life spec on this thing. i WISH THEY MADE THE BATTERY A REMOVABLE ONE.

I will miss iAnnotate though… But I am sure there are numerous other options–know of any?

I feel the exact same way about my iPad. It does Netflix quite well, and it’s battery life is great, but I feel like I am settling. Also, when apps crash, they go down harrrd too.

Most exciting though were all of the USB expansion options. Nothing says loving like an acseible directory.

C’mon dude, what sites and/or things do you do with your computer that requires you to have all of that software to keep yourself clean or running properly? The average user doesn’t need half of that crap for normal internet use. You an apple fanboy, because i feel that is where this is headed?

This is exactly what I was looking for while trying to make the iPad work in a business environment. After three months it went to eBay heaven. There are two distinct markets in my mind – business first devices that can do media as a secondary function, and media devices that can do some business functions. The iPad is of course the later, because no matter how much I liked DocsToGo, iAnnotate, GoodReade, Filebrowser, and Note Taker HD, they were still an unsuccessful suite for replacing MS Office and file explorer in an enterprise setting. “Work-arounds” would be the best description. No doubt netflix, videos, etc were superior, it still stumbled in the office setting. Although only Gen1, I think HP used its experienc from the TC11000 and HP27xxp series to make a solid slate PC experience. Sure, it will not be as smooth and sexy as an iPad, but it WILL fill teh perfect function of an “electronic” yellow pad adjunct to your desktop, and a meaningful business unit at home witht he dock.

Normally i would agree but they have the screen all wrong. Too narrow in portrait and too small. Why didn’t they just update the tc1100? Too busy trying not to be like the ipad when HP were the ones who started with the 10″ 4:3 screen 7 years ago in the first place.

It looked really good with the digitizer until I started thinking seriously about how I would use it.

Still for onenote users or artists this must be high on the wish list. For pdf editors it is too small.

Maybe what she really wanted to say was ” What’s nice about using windows in any device is the variety of Antivirus,antispyware,troyan removers,registry cleaners,firewalls and defragmentation software tha try to keep your data safe but won’t always succeed even it is fully updated”

Wow, it isn’t bad consider they’ll include a dock, case, and pen. Install browser of your choice and millions of Windows program available. I think this is a good start for Win7 tablet. Wish it had Pixel Qi screen.
