Just as many computer companies do, HP decided to go green too and introduced environmental friendly slim desktop. The rp5700 gets a gold rating for the US government Electronic Products Assessment Tool based on its component and materials.

HP claimed 95 percent of the rp5700 is recyclable and uses components and peripherals that consume less power to make the system more energy efficient and resulting in longer system lifespan.

The $817 system equipped with 1.86Ghz Celeron, 512MB of memory and Windows XP Professional. This setup matches the official criteria for the environmental friendly claims, however you can customize the system up to 2.13 Core 2 Duo CPU, 4GB of RAM, and 250GB. The rp5700 is available today.

    That is interesting, I have seen a few Acers that are that small lately. They’re quite small but I don’t think they were environmentally friendly. But very cool otherwise..
